Pre-Conference Symposium for Educators Working in Enrichment, Formation, and Training Programs.
This year’s symposium will take a fresh look at the guiding principles and core values that are foundational to our educational programs for the formation of spiritual directors. Experienced trainers will elicit our collective wisdom. Key facilitators for the Symposium will include Fred M. Middendorf, co-founder of the Sycamore Spirituality Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, Carol Ludwig, Spiritual Directors International Coordinating Council member and co-founder of the Center for Spiritual Care in Vero Beach, Florida; and Cathleen Murtha, DW, of the Spiritual Life Center in Bloomfield, Connecticut, and current President of Spiritual Directors International Coordinating Council. Together, as a learning community, we will share and discuss our experience of these principles and values, which not only ground us but also give us the flexibility to support the charisms and respect the diversity of the participants and their directees.
The Symposium will include presentations, prayer and reflection, in large and small group conversations.
