Travel Expenses
One way to reduce airfare costs to Vancouver, BC may be to fly into Seattle, WA and take a Greyhound Bus to Vancouver, BC. Currently, Greyhound runs buses between the two cities five times a day from the downtown stations in each city. It is approximately a four hour trip and the roundtrip costs is US$47. You can check-out this option at
http://www.greyhound.com/home.asp. We have also asked members attending the Events from the Seattle area to consider providing rides. Available rideshare will be posted on this site as they become available.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Jewish Chaplains
Jewish chaplains who are certified through the National Association of
Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) have a continuing education requirement that is
fulfilled through self-reporting of learning activities. The NAJC does not
accredit or pre-approve learning activities for this purpose. Jewish Chaplains
may simply include the continuing education component of Spiritual Directors
International Events in their annual continuing education report.
National Association of Catholic Chaplains
The application for Continuing Education Hours has been submitted. The
approved Continuing Education Hours will be posted here as soon as notification
of acceptance is received. Last year, conference was approved for 16.8
hours.
Association of Professional Chaplains
Our application for Continuing Chaplaincy Education (CCE) units has been approved. We have been awarded 14.0 CCE units and our course number is APC#07-0069.
National Association of Social Workers
Our application to the National Association of Social Workers has been approved,
for conference keynote presentations, for 6 credit hours of Social Workers
Continuing Education. Our Approval Number is SWCE090367.
There have been several requests to obtain continuing education credits
from various state licensing boards, universities, programs, etc. Obviously, due
to sheer volume, we are unable accommodate requests for "local" accrediting. If
you have suggestions for national or international organizations that provide
continuing education credit, please e-mail the necessary contact information to
events@sdiworld.org.

Worship and Ritual.
Spiritual Directors
International is an increasingly diverse spiritual learning community.
Throughout the Conference individual participants might feel
called to
go off site to local houses of worship. We will provide local worship
information, however, off site worship is the individual
participant’s
responsibility. During the Conference, we will share sacred time
together and participate in rituals designed specifically to celebrate our diverse Spiritual Directors International Conference community.
Program Reunion, and Networking
Opportunities.
Participant Share Tables are provided, free of charge, for members
bringing information to share with others.
During the Conference,
program alumni reunions and topical networking are encouraged. Alumni
reunions, topical gatherings, and spiritual
affiliation groups will
self-organize on-site.
