Leadership Institute
Wide Open Spaces: Discerning New Horizons with the Next Generation
Tomorrow’s spiritual leaders need development and mentoring. Younger people are now being called to the ministry and service not only of spiritual direction but also of training others.Faculty, staff, and program directors will look beyond the immediate
horizon of their current programs to consider legacy issues. How are we
being called to respond to the future of spiritual director training
programs? What challenges and opportunities emerge as the result of new
contextual realities? What are the roles and needs of the next
generation of spiritual directors? How might I approach my program,
students, and work as a spiritual director, supervisor, mentor,
trainer, or teacher in a way that is expansive? As a staff team, how do
we remain energized, effective, and true in the face of change? What is
needed to embrace legacy issues with a heart of lavish generosity?
Together we will explore issues of leadership formation, technology,
evolution in current programs, and expanding the range of those served
by spiritual directors.
Enrichment, formation, and training faculty and staff will share experience, wisdom, and challenges through presentations and small-group discussions. Are you starting a new program? You are welcome to join the circle of wisdom, dialogue, and discernment that serves the global enrichment, formation, and training programs.
