How can you help grow the ministry and service of spiritual direction? Your gifts matter.
There are many ways for you to give back. SDI has been blessed for nearly twenty-five years with faithful contributors who continuously share their time, talents, and treasure.
Spiritual Directors International does not receive any financing from any religious or government institution. We rely upon and creatively live within the limits and dreams of your contributions.
By donating to the General Ministry Fund, SDI will allocate your monies to the area of greatest need. Your financial gift will sustain and support the mission of Spiritual Directors International. The contribution you make will raise awareness of the value of spiritual direction, contemplative practices, and listening with compassion around the world by funding outreach advocacy, online tools, and free resources for seekers.
Spiritual Directors International founding member Mary Ann Scofield, RSM, was instrumental in the formation and training of spiritual directors in many countries. For over a decade, the Sister Mary Ann Scofield, RSM International Scholarship Fund has supported spiritual directors around the world and across traditions by providing resources, publications, educational program support, and membership opportunities. Your donations not only honor the legacy of Sister Mary Ann Scofield, RSM but also help spread the ministry and service of spiritual direction around the world.
Through the US Scholarship Fund, Spiritual Directors International is able to offer scholarship and bursary funds to help students, interns, and others in the United States who need assistance with membership dues.
Economic hardship, geographic location, and other constraints prevent many from participating in SDI educational events. You can help by donating towards this fund for event scholarships and bursaries. Each year many people traveling from around the world make use of these scholarship and bursary funds to help ease the cost of participating in SDI educational events.
The New Contemplatives Initiative seeks to illuminate the web of connections with and among emerging spiritual companions in hopes of creating more opportunities for spiritual guidance and contemplative formation for those in the first half of life. Generous donors make the New Contemplative Initiative possible, and more donors are needed to grow the program.
Spiritual Directors International is committed to "going green" and using the Earth's resources respectfully. But going green is about more than using fewer resources; it’s also about giving back to a world that’s given much to each of us. That’s why Spiritual Directors International plants trees. Planting trees is an act of gratefulness, generosity, and generating growth for years to come.
Donate online now through our safe, secure online store. Your gift is tax deductible in the United States. Give today and say yes to a community that celebrates ancient spiritual practices and seeks new and emerging wisdom. Together, let us be contemplatives in action, committed to growth and renewal as well as peace and social justice.
Pray, meditate, and hold the vision of SDI
SDI believes that deepening into the sacred and participating in spiritual companionship transforms individuals, society, and all creation. We ask that you hold that vision close to your heart during your contemplative moments, prayer time, and meditation. May seekers find the spiritual guidance they yearn for and may spiritual companionship foster peace in our hearts and justice in our world. Together, may we contribute to ways of living in right relationship with all creation.

Educational events volunteer
SDI is grateful for an involved and giving community! Much of our educational events success is due to the incredible web of volunteers who help with things like: creatively transforming hotel space into sacred space, hospitality, publicity, registration, and much, much more!
