Each morning, there will be several contemplative practice opportunities for you to participate in from 7:00–7:45 a.m.
Gentle Yoga with Alan Haras
Meet for a forty-five minute gentle yoga class designed to emphasize the contemplative dimension of breath, movement, and sacred intention. Drawing inspiration from the treasure house of yogic teachings and traditional practices, Alan's classes weave together insights from various lineages to shed light on our own unique experience of the Divine Mystery. We will conclude each session with a guided relaxation and a few moments to enjoy silent meditation.
Morning Mindfulness with John Pollard
During our time together we will enjoy some sitting practice, standing meditation, and gentle chi gong-like movement. We are born into these bodies, but they can become a kind of blind spot in our lives. So, we will pay attention to how the body is feeling, without judging or criticizing. In doing so, we learn that whatever is arising in the body or heart, we can always incline the mind toward kindness and understanding.
Walk the Labyrinth
Start your morning with personal reflection while walking an indoor labyrinth. Local Ontario SDI member Patricia Wagler has generously offered to share her twenty-four-foot labyrinth. Ground yourself with silence and contemplation before a full day of plenary sessions and engaging workshops! You can drop-in and exit anytime during the forty-five minute session.
