9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Program
Would you appreciate one day devoted to stillness, learning from Jewish, Muslim and Christian peacemakers, and networking with spiritual directors and other spiritual care providers? If the seed of yes resonates within you, plan now to attend the May 5, 2009 Spiritual Directors International program.

Spiritual direction grows seeds of peace. Learn from the wisdom and practical experience of presenters Alan Morinis and Shirah Bell from the Mussar Institute, Jamal Rahman and Karen Lindquist from Interfaith Community Church, and Sr. Joyce Cox, BVM from Palisades Retreat Center.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn spiritual practices from the Jewish, Islamic and Christian traditions that grow seeds of peace within our hearts and within the world.
  • Connect with spiritual directors and spiritual care providers in prayer and conversation.
  • Delight in time to wander the labyrinth and appreciate the newly-renovated, lake-front, Peace and Spirituality Center near the heart of Bellevue.
  • Enjoy a sack lunch at the dock where rocking chairs offer views of Mt. Rainier, Mercer Island, and the Olympic Mountains. Or, choose to go into Bellevue for a midday meal with colleagues (a list of local restaurants will be provided).
  • End the day in the chapel by joining in prayer with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace for the regular Tuesday Holy Hour for Peace.
