He received his training in spiritual formation at the Institute of Spiritual Formation at Duquesne University. He is an Episcopal priest who has served parishes in Ohio. Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, West Virginia and Zambia in Central Africa. Karl is involved with two spiritual direction programs, Wings in Rochester, New York and Wellstreams in Columbus, Ohio.
John Stuart grew up in Melbourne, Australia and has had a great interest in music and esp. the folk tradition. He is the eldest of 5 and comes from a Roman Catholic family. He was priest in the archdiocese of Melbourne, Australia for 8 years and after leaving priesthood worked in the alcohol and other drug field. It was there he realised how much a truely spiritual dimension was missing in most of his life and especially in the institutional church. He then went to the Institute For Spiritual Leadership to explore what all that meant. Since then he has been working as a spiritual director. He is currently working as a spiritual director in Melbourne, Australia. He is also a team member of the Living Well Centre here in Melbourne, Australia. He is the current president of The Australian Network for Spiritual Direction.
