This free event is sponsored by Spiritual Directors International.
Our next gathering for spiritual directors and companions is coming up quickly after the holidays, on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
Rev. Victoria Wyatt Bunch will be leading the presentation on “Your Life as Myth.”
Some of us lead lives that are satisfactory at best; yet, we continue to seek enlightened ways to live. Few actually experience Carl Jung’s state of “individuation" where everything in life is welcomed in a detached way or Joseph Campbell’s peaceful state of finding one’s "bliss.” By exploring ones' archetypal spiritual journey using insights from Jung and Campbell we can get glimpses into the unconscious and what Campbell called the Hero’s Journey. This opens possibilities to reframe energy-draining situations - for oneself, directees and/or companions. This workshop will include individual journaling and group sharing.
Vicki graduated from Unity Institute, Unity Village, Missouri, and ordained as a Unity minister in 2006. She served as co-minister with her husband for ten years at Unity of Richmond, VA. In 2017, she retired from active church ministry completing studies as a spiritual director in the Jungian, Dream Work and Mystical model at The Haden Institute, Hendersonville, NC. She now combines literature, Jungian psychology, family systems approach and spiritual insights in individual spiritual direction, group spiritual direction and dream groups with others from all walks of life.
As usual, we will be gathering from 2:00 – 4:30 pm. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 1500 N Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22207.
Please RSVP so that we have some idea of how many people will be attending.
The church parking lot is opposite the side of the church, on the opposite side of 16th Street. The entrance to the parking lot is on Glebe Road. From the parking lot you will need to walk across 16th Street and come up the stairs into the side of the building. There is handicap parking in the parking lot and the handicap entrance is on the front of the building facing Glebe Road. After crossing 16th street, enter at the Glebe Road handicap entrance instead of the 16th Street doors and use the elevator to the Sanctuary level.
We look forward to seeing you there.
