Please take a few moments to read this letter of invitation.
This free event is supported by SDI Communities
This is an open invitation to all spiritual directors and companions.
You have answered the call and have stepped into the sacred work of tending soul in your community. We see you and recognize you.
We invite you to become part of something larger.
Please join with us in the on-going formation of a regional community of spiritual directors and companions in the Seattle/Bellevue area. Our region has had a local chapter for some years. It is our intention to build on that tradition by adding grassroots inspiration so this community can serve us all and we can deepen our spiritual companionship practices together.
The initial meeting is scheduled in March. We will start exploring possibilities by getting to know one another and brainstorming ideas. We want to know how this group can best serve as a supportive community for the spiritual directors and spiritual companions in the region.
Would you like to share your input and ideas? Are you looking for ways to grow and be supported? Do you miss the intimate sharing of your training cohort?
Please join us at the meeting time set aside for this new beginning on March 7, 2020 at 2:00-4:00 pm.
Here is the rough agenda:
2:00-2:20 Arrival and chit-chat
2:20-2:35 SDI News -
2:35 - 3:00 Get to know you activity
3:00-3:30 Small groups to come up with ideas
3:30-4:00 Share ideas
Royleane Otteson and Alizabeth Rasmussen are holding the space for this community gathering.
We invite you to join us.
Alizabeth (Liz) Rasmussen is a Spiritual Director, trained at the Francisian Center in Milwaukee (Portland). In addition to her spiritual direction practice, she supports SDI part-time with membership services and she leads a Lectio/Centering Prayer group twice a month. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Royleane Otteson is finishing her final year of the SDTP at the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Milwaukee, OR. She will graduate in June and is looking forward to setting up her practice this summer. She also runs a support group in the Puget Sound Area for those in faith transition in the LDS Community. She can be reached at email@example.com
Note: These gatherings seek to provide an opportunity for spiritual directors and companions in our region to connect. We want to create a place where we can learn about other faiths and religious traditions, share contemplative time or meditation, and practice new skills in spiritual care. Maybe you feel the same? Please join us.
