SDI Multi-Faith Pilgrimage: The Wisdom in Receiving Hospitality

Journey together and discover the beauty of being guests at diverse centers of spirituality in Louisville on Saturday, 18 April 2015.
The pilgrimage begins with a visit to the Earth and Spirit Center at the Passionist Monastery, a magnet for the study of ecological awareness, which will include a period of meditation.
Following our time at the Earth and Spirit Center, The Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University will open its doors exclusively for SDI with an introduction to the largest archive of Thomas Merton's legacy hosted by the center's director, Dr. Paul M. Pearson.
Following our midday meal, we will visit the the Tibetan Buddhist Institute of Louisville will include us in their hour of services and meditation.
Finally, we will visit the Hindu Temple to experience chanting and hear stories about the Hindu tradition from a special guide.
The entire day is a spiritual exercise in the wisdom in receiving hospitality and learning to live as a guest of the earth and its varied religious communities.
Cost includes transportation to and from The Galt House, fees associated with sacred sites, and a midday meal.
Jonathan Montaldo is a former director of the Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University, and he served as the associate director of the Merton Institute for Contemplative Living. He has edited numerous volumes of Merton’s writing and created the ten-booklet series for small group dialogue Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton
