This ninety-minute activity gives participants an opportunity to draw upon the wisdom and experience in spiritual accompaniment to be found in those attending the conference. It follows a pattern of triads used at Spiritual Directors in Europe for many years, but with alterations to fit different circumstances in the case of SDI. Time constrictions mean that we shall work in pairs. This is an exercise in listening. The chief resource is the people in the room.
Peter Ball, an Anglican priest, has a retirement ministry offering spiritual direction, retreats, and training. He worked in parishes in London and at St. Paul’s Cathedral. His books include Journey into Faith, Adult Believing, Anglican Spiritual Direction and Introducing Spiritual Direction. He has led a number of conference workshops. He is a founding member of Spiritual Directors in Europe and draws on experience there in this workshop. Angela, his wife, died in 2004; he has three children and nine grandchildren
