SDI Webinar: Listening to Children with a Spiritual Director’s Heart

Date:
19 October 2016

Meditation and mindfulness can help young children feel more peaceful, calm, and reduce feelings of anxiety and worry. By introducing some simple strategies for reflection, gratitude, and listening, children can grow in self-awareness and resilience.

This webinar is designed to introduce parents, grandparents, and teachers to some simple mindfulness and meditation practices for young children. The webinar will provide ideas on how to meditate with children—including how to write a personalized guided meditation for your child—and introduce some helpful questions and processes to assist young children in reflecting upon experiences and events in their lives. Together we will explore the role of gratitude as a spiritual practice for children, as well as some beautiful contemplative practices to share around the dinner table and before bed.
