Webinars

This is not just a webinar series. It’s an investment in your vocation and the quality of your life

Last year, the first edition of this webinar series struck a chord that resonated with spiritual companions across the world. That series became the most popular webinar in SDI history.

This year we have 9 new presenters who have all found creative ways to follow a deep, heart-felt calling and pay the rent. Some offer spiritual companionship part-time, some blend services, and some are spiritual entrepreneurs - not only working full-time, but offering other spiritual companions work in their centers of spiritual care.

All of them have made their vocation a part of their lives and their livelihoods.

We'll grant you that it's not easy to make a living as a spiritual companion. But our presenters show that it’s definitely possible. And during our webinar, all our presenters will share their recipes for turning spiritual companionship into a financially sustainable career.

If you are a student of spiritual direction - or you already work in a listening profession - this webinar series is for you.

The series runs over 4 consecutive weeks -- with live sessions each Tuesday from February 12 - March 5. The first three sessions will run 75 minutes each. The last session will run 90 minutes.

But even if that doesn't fit your schedule, please remember: each session is recorded so you can watch at your convenience.

This is a spiritual wake-up call for you and all the people you companion.

Please join us.

The Enneagram is an invaluable tool in spiritual companionship because, in the words of presenter Sandra Smith, "it
deepens awareness of specific patterns that lull us to sleep
in our lives." The beauty of this ancient wisdom system is that once we are aware of our tendency to sleep-walk through life, it becomes far easier to wake ourselves up. Anyone engaged in spiritual care, regardless of tradition, can benefit from this webinar series because The Enneagram is ultimately a self-tailoring, non-judgemental spiritual practice. Like all spiritual companionship, it begins - and continues - with the invitation to listen to what resonates deep within us and to build authentic lives. The series runs between March 19 and April 9, 2019. But even if that doesn't fit your schedule, please remember: each session is recorded so you can watch at your convenience.

Spiritual Independents make up a major new spiritual movement.

And spiritual companionship, with its focus on the agency of each person, is ideally suited to address their needs.

Would you like to learn how best to serve them?

Spiritual Independents form the fastest-growing spiritual movement in the United States - now making up 27 percent of the adult population. Around the world, the numbers of spiritually-focused but religiously unaffiliated people are on the increase, too - as are those individuals who claim roots in multiple traditions. These people are both motivated and skeptical. They are curious and often open to learning from non-traditional as well as traditional sources. But they don't want to be told what to believe.Isn't this an ideal population to be served by spiritual companions - with our focus on listening, discernment and nurturing the spiritual life? We think so. That's why we're offering this webinar series about the spiritually independent. We'll explore why people choose this path, what their needs are when it comes to spiritual companionship, and how we can best serve them. We recruited two experienced and innovative spiritual companions to present the series. Janice L. Lundy, DMin and Jeanette Banashak, PhD are co-founders and co-directors of The Spiritual Training Guidance Institute, which offers certification in interspiritual and interfaith spiritual direction (guidance). They have been trailblazers in bringing companionship to the spiritually independent.

The series runs over 4 consecutive weeks -- with live sessions on Tuesdays March 28, April 11, 18 and 25. All sessions will run 75 minutes each. There will be a pdf workbook for each participant so you can keep notes and jot down questions and observations. But even if that doesn't fit your schedule, please remember: each session is recorded so you can watch at your convenience.
