Kathleen Deignan, CND is a theologian and sacred song writer that has been engaged in liturgical musicianship for four decades. Deignan received her master’s degree in spirituality studies and her doctorate in historical theology from Fordham University in New York, USA, where she studied with her mentor, the late theologian Fr. Thomas Berry. Deignan serves as professor of religious studies at Iona College in New York. She is the president of the International Thomas Merton Society and is on the boards of The American Teilhard Association and GreenFaith.
Jonathan Montaldo is a former director of the Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University in Kentucky, USA, and served as the associate director of the Merton Institute for Contemplative Living. He has edited numerous volumes of Merton’s writing including Entering the Silence: Becoming a Monk and Writer; The Intimate Merton (with Patrick Hart); Dialogues with Silence: Prayers & Drawings: A Year with Thomas Merton; and Choosing to Love the World. He created the ten-booklet series for small group dialogue Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton. He has most recently edited a volume of reflections to commemorate Merton's centenary entitled, We Are Already One: Thomas Merton's Message of Hope.
